LnS Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of One Way, a solo show by Michael Loveland. The exhibition is accompanied by a 76-page hardcover catalogue including an investigative interview led by Franklin Sirmans, Director of the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), and artist Michael Loveland. The publication also features a melodic essay by Cat García-Menocal breaking down the thought and form behind the artist’s work. The catalogue is available for purchase at the gallery. One Way is Loveland’s second presentation and first major solo exhibition at LnS Gallery, and will be on view through April 8, 2023.

As technology continues to oversaturate each avenue of life, Michael Loveland employes a renewed sense of noticing in this body of work. Utilizing fragmented images and items he mimics the cadence of seeing in the 21st century, swayed by the manner in which we digest digital media, while paradoxically regressing to the tangible in constructing artifacts of our current moment. Placing these elements in a new context allows each piece to be redefined, reborn, and elevated in assemblage to challenge preconceived notions of object, place, and permanence.

Over the last three years, Loveland has dissolved the ideas of the linear narrative, conventional boundaries, and traditional compositions. After finding an alternative, focused voice, his concepts flow through the visual language of the most recent works featured in One Way. Using objects reflecting the physical and mental tempo of our contemporaneous moment, each work becomes a token of personal, and generational subconscious happenings.

And now, we invite you to ride with us as we travel One Way – an exhibition by Michael Loveland.
