LnS GALLERY is honored to announce the opening of Home: A Short History of an Idea, a solo exhibition showcasing the latest series of works by represented artist Tim Buwalda.
Merriam-Webster’s definition of the word ‘home,’ (n). one’s place of residence, house, habitat, or a place of origin, ‘home,’ is also commonly used and understood in reference to a feeling of belonging, safety, and even sanctuary. Keeping linguistic roots as old as the written language, Tim Buwalda challenges this inherent focal point of society showing us ‘Home: A Short History of an Idea.’

True to Buwalda’s practice, this deeply personal exploration of such a mammoth concept is distinguished between 10 canvases, each saturated with an investigative scene to confront the peripheries of such a thought. The walls, cities, relationships, RV’S, landmarks, familiar places and faces bear witness to the intimacies and authenticities to life that make us human, executed by the artist in means of display over judgement. In an evolution from previous work, Buwalda asks not only where we have been, but where we are, and to sit with the present.
