LnS Gallery is honored to present Transcendentalism, Distilled a solo exhibition of the influential and timeless modern artist, Rafael Soriano. This exhibition highlights the final prolific decade in Soriano’s reputable career that spanned over 60 years and is the first comprehensive show discussing his paintings completed in the 1990s.

This body of late paintings displays a maturity in composition and palette clarifying his career-long journey in illustrating the depth unique to the internal experience. Within each artwork, he replicates this ethereal pilgrimage through imagery that is externally translatable. Light and life are captured at their core by Rafael Soriano’s cosmic interpretations of the undefinable radiance of being, swaddled in translucencies of oil presented on canvas in each phantasmic rendering.

Soriano’s work forms part of world-renowned permanent collections, some being the Art Museum of the Americas (Washington, DC), Smithsonian American Art Museum (Washington, DC), Blanton Museum of Art (Austin, TX), Denver Art Museum (Denver, CO), Galeria de Arte Moderno (Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic), Long Beach Museum of Art (Long Beach, CA), McMullen Museum of Art (Boston, MA), Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Havana, Cuba), Lowe Art Museum (Miami, FL), Museo de Arte Zea (Medellin, Colombia), NSU Art Museum (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) and the Pérez Art Museum Miami (Miami, FL).
